    CAW 32: All Hallow's Eve

    When the sun goes down

    And the cold wind blows

    Goblins fly and

    Jack O'Lanterns glow

    Black cats will howl

    Swaying trees will sigh

    Misty ghosts appear

    As wiches fly.

    Monsters stalking their prey

    Appear at your front door

    Loudly crying “Trick or Treat”

And begging for more and more.

    Don't deny them

    Don't say no

    Because they warned you

    And they won't go.

    Offer them candy

    Don't invite them inside

    Once you do that

    There's no where to hide.

    Until the night ends

    and the moon goes away

    No one is safe

    While the spirits play.

This is a great poem about Halloween. I don't believe that poetry is held to the same rules in regards to punctuation, so you are good there. Other than that, I saw no issues.

I love the comparison between monsters stalking their prey, and trick or treating.

All in all, great work. My only complaint is that you didn't tell us what picture you chose to base this on.

Great poem...short, sweet, concise and definitely got the eerie feeling of Halloween

This poem should be inside of a card that I would receive on my birthday which just happens to be on Halloween. Thanks for your submission.

I don't really do poetry its lost on me. That said it was well written and entertaining, the last two lines I liked best and they will stick with me most.

I wish I could do poetry. You did it well. You didn't say which picture it was based on, not that I need to know, but let me guess #5.

    Wonderful poem about Halloween. :D

After the last story made me cry, it was nice to read this. It is a good blend of everything fun and spooky about the holiday.

Thanks for making me smile and not cry. :p

Sweet poem - saw one typo - but nicely done.

What ejls said, one typo, no biggie. What LMK said, a good blend of everything fun and spooky.

I sorta' read this to the canter of Bohemian Rhapsody for some reason, complete with all the drama and shouting. Not sure why, but the poem just evoked that from me.

    Kinda' cool!
