The ocean air was crisp and fresh as the wind blew across the water along the docks. Several ships had left earlier and the open docks allowed for a perfect breeze. The dock guard watched as the stream of people flowed through the gates. The Agile Marie’s crew had informed them about the party. It was a party ship, with all the frills including a small casino. It wasn’t cheap to use for long parties, but smaller ones were more manageable. This time though it was some rich tycoon’s daughter’s birthday bash.

Security checked each of the guests to be sure they had the appropriate invite. Most were from wealthy families and arrived in limos. The others were super wealthy. All of them were rude and snobbish. They barely acknowledged the guards only because they had to. Do to the attendees status security had to be very tight. There were armed guards everywhere. These passing through would stay a few hours and more would take their place. That would go on most of the afternoon. The scheduled was for the ship to depart in the early afternoon. She would be out for several days. They needed to be in open water if they wanted to use the casino for real money. They turned three with staff IDs away. Any staff was to have been on board already and been through screening. It was a big party and they needed to prepare.

The party started almost the moment that the first guest stepped aboard. The music blared and the noise rose. Things heated up a few hours later. On the decks, women were walking around in bikinis topless or completely nude. The gate guard was busy watching them through a pair of binoculars when the harbormaster stepped into the gatehouse.

“Ehh hem,” he cleared his throat. He was an older man, late fifties, and despite the heat, he wore a suit. Although this was a private dock, he still enjoyed the way people reacted when caught doing something they shouldn’t have been.

The young man fumbled slightly nearly dropping the binoculars as he spun on his heels. His hands going quickly behind his back to conceal the binoculars.

“Yes sir, something I can do for you sir?” he blurted out. He was not a worker for the harbormaster, but the harbormaster could call his boss.

“For one cut the dam Sir sandwich nonsense. Two check your phones. We have been trying to get a hold of you for over a half hour. The Captain of the Agile Marie has postponed departure. The dock owners are responsible for security until they depart. A unit of police will be here shortly. A new guest is attending and they do not want any problems.”

The young guard nodded. “I have to clear it with the office,” he stammered.

Nodding the harbormaster turned to leave. “You do that son. They probably want to talk to you anyway about not answering the dam phone in the first place.”

The guard swallowed hard and took a breath before picking up the phone. It had been off the hook, somehow. The call he made lasted about two minutes. Minute one was about the communications lapse. Now he was on probation. They were adding a disciplinary letter to his employment file. The other minute was all directions to cooperate with the authorities. When he finished the call and hung up, he looked out at the two snickering armed guards. One of them must have moved the phone receiver. Assholes. He growled and grabbed the binoculars once again. If he was going be fired he would at least have some money from this. The binoculars he had, had a digital camera. He was getting a lot of nice video footage of naked bodies. Tabloids would pay big bucks for it.

It was twenty minutes later and a truck screamed to halt at the gate. Ten men jumped out all wearing swat gear. They shoved the two snickering guards aside then disarmed them. Eight of the men lined the pier to the Agile Marie. They all were looking in every direction with their weapons ready to fire at the first sign of a problem.

One of the remaining two men stayed at the gate while the other shoved into the gatehouse.

“You are to stay put. Do not approach the woman that comes and do not speak to her. She has already been cleared and will be escorted by officers to the ship,” he said flashing his badge.

Not that the officer had noticed but the guard just nodded and stood there open mouthed staring. Another ten minutes and they were all again looking around. Some were kneeling. Some were facing the gate while others were watching the boats. The security guard was in awe of it all. This was the most excitement he had in his entire life. Whoever it was that was showing must be a big shot somewhere.

When the limo arrived, a man was jumping out the front passenger side even before it stopped. He caught the handle of the back door glancing through the gate at the officer in the guardhouse. He nodded and the man opened the door.

A man appeared on the other side moving around the back of the limo. He held a pistol in one hand as he looked around another man got out the opened door. He was dressed to impress. One look and he radiated waves of power. He had to be in his mid-forties at the youngest. He didn't seem to fit in with the other guests. Yes, some were older, but this man held a stern look that said he wasn’t there to party.

He moved from the door and a young blonde stepped out. She had hair down past her but her entire outfit was white and hugged her curves. She was smaller than he was five-foot maybe. She had a slender figure. She wore a sun hat and a pair of sunglasses that covered half her face. The older man stopped her and they had a short conversation. Those closest to them only heard the conversation. The man looked more upset when they finished. The young woman laughed and embraced him lightly.

The two-armed men that had arrived with them moved and bracketed her. It looked odd as they side walked and glanced around. The two-minute walk was double that as she strutted to the gate. The police officer at the gate took up one side as they moved through the gate. The officer in the gatehouse stepped out and started in front of them as two more completed the circle around the woman. As she walked by, she tilted her head to look in the gatehouse and smiled at the guard giving him a tiny little wave. She chuckled as he gawked, drool slipping from his mouth.

One of the other guards tossed a towel roll at him, catching him off guard. “Get a hold of yourself. She is way out of your league boy.”

He wanted to say something, anything in retort but nothing came to him. This was not the first time that the owner had used these men or others like them. They were rude and nasty most of the time, and he didn’t care to be around them. They laughed at him as he struggled to come up with his comeback. He could have said anything, but that would have been just more for them to razz him about. Instead, he just turned and watched her. She swayed her little pert backside with just a slight movement of her hips as she moved along the pier. She was giving them all something to watch.

Five minutes after she got on board, the Agile Marie started moving. She couldn’t have been more than a thousand feet from the dock before a large, black SUV screeched to a halt by the gate. That was a welcome as it was for the two-armed men. As every time before, they would leave within moments of whatever it was, they were guarding leaving. Fortunately, this time they left without incident. One did grumble about the owner needing to fire stupid useless security guards.

The young guard trembled at the thought. He would catch hell from his mother if he lost yet another job.

Michael Saint stepped out of the shower and dried off. He stopped and stepped next to the vanity. Condensation covered the mirror. Using his towel he wiped it just enough to see his reflection. He was forty-five years old. Looking at him, many would not guess that. People said he didn’t look his age. A trait he inherited from his mother. No one suspected she was in her mid-seventies or even had a daughter that was in her late fifties. However, she did. She had six children and Michael was the middle child. He was the only one with no kids of his own and once again was single.

With a sigh, he grabbed his small bag of toiletries and began the tiresome task of shaving. He was setting things out when the smell of cookies wafted in. His mother was baking, again. Not that it was a bad thing. He enjoyed a good cookie as many people did. He also liked cake and pie, apple pie to be precise. Store bought was okay but homemade was always best. That was okay but homemade was better. Besides, who bakes better than mom does?

The smell was luring but he took his time first to brush his teeth then to shave. He didn’t want any cuts or abrasions from a rough shave. Annoying alone, the hot weather would make them worse. He still got a few close scrapes that irritated his skin. Reluctantly he pulled out the bottle of after-shave and put some on his hand then set the bottle on the sink. The sting was intense but brief. He added more of the lotion to where the scrapes were. At least there was no blood. Once again, he used his towel to dry his face before tossing it onto the show curtain rod.

He put on just a pair of shorts and started to gather up all his discarded clothing. He was just standing from picking up his pants when movement caught his eye. The towel was falling. Would it have mattered if it had fallen? No, it wouldn’t have. However sometimes reflex just happens to act at a moment. He spun and caught the towel midair. When he spun it around, catching his balance, the edge of the towel flipped across the vanity. His opened bottle of aftershave fell and wasn’t as fortunate as the towel had been. It did happen to fall into the sink. That was a good thing. The bad thing was that now he had to get more.

After wiping down the sink and again gathering his clothes, Michael opened the bathroom door. The aroma of the cookies baking was more intense and bombarded his sense of smell. Again, he resisted the temptation to go grab some. He went to his room dropping the armful of clothing to the bed before heading to the desk and his computer. It was a nice setup and he had several things going on the three screens. He glanced at the corner of the screen before sitting to check everything and made some changes. He even made a few phone calls, through the computer using a wireless headset. He could do just about anything with the setup. As he did, he absently picked up his pants and emptied the pockets then pulled the belt. He stuffed everything into a bag. When he finished what he had to do, he shut down everything but those that continuously ran.

When the alarm on his cell went off, he was dressed. He put his cell in one pocket then his wallet in another. What little money he had he slipped into another. With a deep breath, he looked around. It was as it should be. He picked up the bags he had packed the night before and walked out to the living room to set them by the door. When he went to the kitchen, the smell of baked goods was intense and the room was twice as hot as the rest of the house. He looked around but didn’t see his mother. He went to the counter and looked at all the cookies sitting there. All different kinds. He had resisted long enough. He grabbed one from the nearest tray and stuck it in his mouth before grabbing two more from another tray, one in each hand.

“Hey,” he heard and froze mid-way to grabbing another. The one in his mouth nearly falling as he bit into it, barely holding onto it, caught between his lips. “Those are for your nieces and nephews school fundraiser.”

He dropped the cookie from his mouth. “What is?” he tried to play off.

“You know right well. Their school is having their Fun fair to raise funds to get more music instruments and computers.”

“Well the little PIA’s can spare a few. If they hadn’t postponed it I could have gone and bought some of them then but now I have to go.”

“Still can. You are the one leaving.”

“Yeah and everyone knows that this was planned and a commitment that I made months ago. I still have to work. Even Yvette understood that.”

His mother sighed. “Yet she still left. You are not getting any younger Michael. You need to find someone more stable and preferably single or at least divorced. You can still have a few of those little PIAs yourself. Maybe that will help give you some stability in life.”

None of his family let him forget that tidbit. He met Yvette online. They talked for three months and they hit it off great. She was in the process of a divorce when they got together. It had been less than a year together when he decided to propose. He wanted her to know how much he loved her. He bought the ring and worked out what he wanted to do and say. He had it all worked out. Mostly. He had not planned on her packing up her stuff and some of his and leaving. In her note, she said, “I want you to know it is not you, it is me.” He called her several times and emailed her more. No answers. The truth was she had got all she could from him. She maxed out three of his credit cards nearing a fourth. Grand total nearly ten thousand dollars. The police said they couldn’t do anything. She had his permission to use the cards. That had been over a month ago. She had stabbed him in the heart and the knife was still there. It made him very wary. Even if he did talk to a woman after that, all he could do was think of her. Her and the betrayal.

“Yeah, she left. I should have seen it coming, but she caught me off guard. She was to perfect. Live and learn I guess.” He dug in his one pocket and pulled out a twenty-dollar bill setting it on the table. “Tell the little PIAs they better sell them all. They can share a few with their friends.” He gave her a peck on the cheek. “I have to go. I still have a few stops to make before I can head out. I’ll be in touch.” He started out toward the living room.

This would be the third time that he had gone to do research somewhere that didn’t have civilization. She took a breath. He had been different from his brothers and sisters. They all found jobs they stuck with. Michael didn’t settle into any one job except one. He kept changing, looking to learn and do as much as he could. Even before, he graduated high school he had college level classes. She walked out with him, as he stopped to take down his father’s old fishing box. He took a single lure from it, sticking it in his shirt pocket. She knew what that lure was all about and said nothing. From the corner, she pulled a large reusable bag and walked to him. When he saw what was inside he laughed. It was full of cookies, his favorites. All in vacuum sealed packs.

“Probably won’t last you long but at least you can have something,” she said.

Again, his phone went off. His ride was there. Since he wouldn’t need it, he was leaving his car for her since hers would be in the shop for a week.

“Thanks. I got to go.” He was juggling everything as he hurried out. She walked out with him watching. “I called Mr. Havier and he will be over to look at the garage roof,” he told her. “He will bring his grandson to help with the yard work. You can tell Patricia that yes, I made the transfer and yes, I will have time to do the next as well. So she can stop harping about it.” Patricia was his oldest sister. She would know what he meant. Though he suspected their mother knew what they all did.

The driver came and helped with his bags, taking them to the trunk that had already been open. He stopped at the car and looked at the back door that was open as well, shaking his head. He scooped his mother into a short hug and then gave her another kiss, this time on the forehead. “I’ll call as soon as I get situated.”

He grumbled at the driver standing there, waiting. “I have some stops to make,” he told him as he pushed the back door closed and got in the front. Being driven around was okay but he hated the back seat. He pulled a notebook from a pocket on his bag and tore a page from it as the driver got in. “Here are the addresses. It shouldn’t take long to pick up what I want to.” He had it all ordered, just had to pick it up. Two sporting goods stores, a couple of spice stores a drug store and a grocery store. The last stop took the longest, his favorite diner. Not only did he pick up what he ordered, but also bought breakfast for both him and the driver. It only took longer because they had hit the morning rush.

The driver was very good. They made it to the docks with time to spare. The driver helped unload the car and again thanked Michael for the breakfast that he was going to go sit and enjoy. Michael signed off on the receipt and added a hundred for a tip. The people he was working for was paying for it, he just had to sign as proof he used the service. He thanked the driver and made his way on board finding the captain with the senior research team head along with the commander.

He politely interrupted their discussion to introduce himself. The commander was the one he needed to see. He got the location of the cabin he was going to use. He would be on board for a week barring any problems. They had him listed as a researcher but not to any one of the six teams on this trip. Dr. Mark Brans told him he would be welcomed to assist any of the teams if he wanted to. He had read about Michael’s credentials. Michael left them to their discussion. He thanked them all before he went to search for the room.

The research ship Deep Water was large. Over three hundred meters long and a hundred wide and fifty tall. She was new and one of the most equipped vessels, of its class, in operation. He had been on the previous model and found his way after only one wrong turn and a helpful young woman that pointed him in the right direction.

The room was not small but only had limited standing room. There was enough space for a bed, a sink, a standing locker, and a small desk and with a chair. Under the desk was a paper shredder. There was storage under the bed. It was not much but it would be home for the week. He set everything down and sat on the bed grabbing the two bags of breakfast. It was still warm, even the coffee. He sat eating and reading what the crew had left on the desk. There was an ID tag with a note “to be carried always”. There was also an itinerary for each team of researchers and a list of what to do situations. The crew roster he ignored as well as a list of directions to common areas of the ship. He had a few other things and noted what he needed to. When he finished he went out to see what he could help with. There was a lot to do, and the day sped by. It was after lunch that he saw a young woman struggling with a large crate. He hurried and caught the end of the crate with one hand and her with the other, keeping both from hitting the deck. She smiled and took a breath. From her features and skin tone, she was of mixed heritage. It added to her beauty. Long black hair fell over her shoulders and the glasses just added to the delicate details of her face.

They settled the crate to a platform and she sat on it. “Thanks.”

Michael shrugged. “No problem. Are you okay? You shouldn’t be lifting that stuff alone.”

She looked down. “Everyone is busy. Even if they weren’t they don’t want to be around me.”

Despite his recent issues with the fairer of the sexes, Michael found that hard to believe. “That I can’t believe. A beautiful woman is always popular.”

She blushed. “Thank you,” She stood and extended her hand. “I am Rose, assistant to Dr. Brans.” She waited to see.

“A pleasure Rose,” Michael shook her hand. He held it longer than a normal handshake as he felt the soft skin, allowing his fingers to caress the back of her hand. She had an appeal that made him feel at ease almost instantly.

“Well, that is a good sign. People usually run the other direction when they find out. They are afraid I might tell their secrets I guess.”

“Well it may be a big ship but there is still limited places to run to so why bother running. We are going to be on this ship a while and it won’t do anyone any good causing tension over stupid stuff like who their boss is.”

“Boss and father,” she shyly looked away.

“Makes no difference there either. Many children work with their parents that are in similar fields. That just means you are walking the same path, just with similar same steps. I have no secrets worth telling, Rose. Well, maybe some old family recipes which grandma would turn over in her grave if I let out to anyone but the next generation.”

She looked up at him and wondered just who he was. He wasn’t wearing a crew uniform or research insignia. “Well I can think of one secret you have besides that,” she grinned as he cocked his head questioning. “Your name?”

He slapped himself in the forehead. “Caught me forgetting my manners. Apologies miss. My name is Michael. Michael Saint.”

Her father had mentioned him. No wonder he wasn’t concerned about him. “Well, Michael I’m sure we will see each other again. I have some tasks for father to finish. Perhaps we can talk more.”

Michael nodded. “Sure talking never hurt anyone. At least as far as I know.”

She grinned. “No, unless you get a sore jaw from talking too much. See you around Michael.” She hurried off and he found he was staring at her until she was out of sight.

Throughout the afternoon, he was seeing her. She acted as her father’s go-between and he helped where he could. Usually, that meant helping to check equipment. He didn’t mind that. She noticed him looking at her a couple of times. She would laugh and gave a half-hidden wave.

It had been a long day when it came time for dinner. Michael was going to just grab a tray and go back to his quarters, for the peace and quiet. When he went into the dining room, it was full. Just about every table had a table full of researchers talking about the next day or crew just talking about whatever. The one table that wasn’t had Rose and the woman that he met when he came on board. The two of them were eating together. It looked as if those around had made a point of not sitting at the table. They had squeezed extra chairs at the other tables instead.

“It seems that everywhere else is taken, ladies would you mind if I joined you?” he asked as he approached.

“Please do,” the woman waved at the empty chair across from her.

“Thanks. Is there a reason you lovely ladies are sitting alone? Or am I just lucky to get here before your admirers.”

“No one stopped them from sitting down,” the woman spat out with distaste in her tone. “They all chose to be huddled up against each other to talk shop. I rather talk about anything but. I hope you found your way earlier. Sorry I couldn’t just take you to it.”

Michael snorted. “You had things to do and yes I did thanks again. By the way, I’m Michael.”

“Anastasia Roman. Most call me Anna.” She side glanced at Rose. “From what I hear you have already met Rose here.”

“Yes, I have. However, she wasn’t so quiet. Perhaps you need to poke her to make sure she’s still awake,” Michael joked.

“I’m awake,” Rose said but was too late to stop Anna from following his suggestion. She was poking Rose right in the ribs. She did it several times getting Rose to break into a laugh and telling her to stop. Playful and it broke the awkwardness. They started talking and asking questions. He was slightly amused at their candor. He answered them and asked his own questions. That is where he found out that Anna was part of the medical staff, as a resident. They had talked for over an hour. Most of the others had left and a crewmember was moving the tables and resetting the chairs.

Anna looked at her watch. “Wow I haven’t done that in a while,” she wondered where the time had gone. “Looks like it is almost movie time. Will you be staying to watch Michael?”

That had been in the reading material left on the desk. Starting at six in the morning and going through to dinner there would be a selection of movies posted. Everyone on board could vote for which would be the night's movie. With two showings, it was a way of relaxing at the end of the day. Anyone could also use their computer or tablets to access the movie database, to watch what they wanted. “I hadn’t thought about it to be honest.”

They weren’t having it and insisted he stay, each latching on to him. They cleared the table just as the crewmember came to remove it. The company was better than the movie. All about a world of water. It seemed a bit ironic considering, but that ended when Dr. Brans got up after and started a speech. The movie emulated what their lives would be like for the next several months. Throughout the movie, Rose had been right against him, as Anna was the other side. She put a foot of space between them before her father appeared. Once he finished and left the room she was back to talking.

Michael walked them to their rooms, first was Rose then Anna. Anna gave him an unexpected peck on the cheek. The way she stood almost looked inviting, but he said his good night and went to his room. Little did he know, that would set the pattern for the next three days. He ate with them. He worked with Rose where he could and then movie night. He had also made it to the ship gym. It was in a lower bay and even had a running track despite the treadmills. He started to use both prior to dinner.

The morning of the fourth day Captain St. James found him during breakfast. A weather front was ahead of them and they were veering to avoid it. Depending on how far they had to go and how long it lasted, it could delay his departure a few days. They could probably make it through the storm but the captain didn't want to risk it.

Both women were silent as they listened and thought. They knew he was leaving the ship, but the Captain brought it to the forefront. Michael got up, taking all the trays, to get more coffee. “Guess that means you ladies are stuck with me that much longer,” he said as he walked off. When he came back, they were whispering. As per the pattern, he walked each of the women to where they had to be. No one had need of his help when he asked so he puttered around in one of the workshops.

Since he had more time he spent a little longer in the gym. When he finished he was soaked through with sweat. In the hall, he met Anna. She gave him a hug, and quickly backed off. “Ewe,” she whined.

“What did you expect? I just came out of the gym.”

“Must have been a big work out judging from that,” she waved to his tee shirt. “Hope you are drinking more than the normal amount of water. Don’t need you being brought into sickbay dehydrated.”

Michael rolled his eyes and took a breath. He held up the four-quart water canteen with his gym bag as she got that serious look all medical people had.

“Drink at least one and a half of those. That reminds me that you are on the list of those that have yet to report for their physicals.” She held her hand up. “SOP and you know it.”

“Right now I just need a shower,” he told her. “Can’t sit in the mess smelling like this.”

She agreed. “Hey did you vote for that movie?” she smiled and batted her eyes. She wanted to see it on a larger screen and not her tiny laptop.

“Yes,” he groaned as he walked away. She had been going on about it since the list posted.

The shower units that he had found one was out of the way and barely used if it was at all. The shower was one of the few places he felt vulnerable. Someone could catch him off guard if he wasn’t careful. Like others around the ship, it was multi-stall shared shower yet no one was ever there when he was. He did stop to get more water, ice cold. He sat and drank half the canteen before stripping and moving into the shower.

He could smell them before he heard the giggles. “This is listed as a men’s shower,” he shouted from under the water. He slid to the left just as a hand was coming down to his shoulder, he spun around and back to grab the woman from behind. It was a naked Rose.

“Well I guess we won’t need to check your reflexes,” an equally naked Anna giggled from behind her.

The sight of both these lovely women naked stirred his penis to react. “Ladies I think this is a bad idea,” he tried to turn away but Anna came up behind and sandwiched him between her and Rose. Rose moved around to face him as Anna leaned her chin on his shoulder. Rose was shorter than he was but Anna was slightly taller. “We think it’s a great idea, so you are outvoted.” She reached around and gripped his shaft grinning at a blushing Rose. Her hand was already there. “This looks good enough for two,” she let Rose play with his cock as she moved her hand to caress his balls. She came around and took his face in hand turning him to her for a long sensual kiss. Once she had his attention, she took his hand and directed it to her breast. She went to caress his balls again but Rose had them in her mouth.

“MMM she seems to be a good cock sucker,” Anna whispered in his ear. She took his hand from her breast and guided it to her crotch. Unlike the other redheads that he had been with, Anna was hairless and felt silky smooth.

He felt uneasy. They must have sensed it as they kept going. He shook off the hesitation. That was the past. He let his finger rub through her slit and along her clit. Anna purred. “Mmm, that's it, big guy. Rub that button,” she humped into his hand. She looked down at the slurping as Rose engulfed the head of his cock. “She a good pussy licker too. And she’s very sensitive in her pussy so you should get a good taste of her sweetness.” That got her clit a pinch as he rolled it around. She moaned as his finger went inside her.

“Let’s take this to the floor before we fall down,” Anna suggested. She directed Michael to lay flat and Rose just went back to sucking on him. Anna straddled his face and rubbed her wet pussy into his mouth. She got instant tongue action and his hands on her hips as he sucked and licked around on her clit and pussy lips. He licked her to three orgasms before he moaned and his hip lifted as he got closer to cumming and Anna laughed. “Think he’s going to cum Rose.” Rose just swallowed him deeper, pressing her lips tighter around as she bounced her head up and down. The pressure of her lips pulling any driblets of cum to her waiting tongue. Michael was losing focus as he got closer and Anna pushed down into his mouth letting his tongue worm its way into her. She reached down and flicked her clit getting another two orgasms before he came in Rose's mouth.

“MMM my turn,” Anna announced. She did drop down to kiss him, licking his lips, tasting herself. When she stood up Rose strutted the two feet to her, locking lips she shared what she had left in her mouth.

Michael looked on. It was a very beautiful sight. They were very sensual, caressing each other. Anna broke away licking her lips before getting down and grabbing Michael’s cock. It had not softened yet and she gave it a few stokes. He was about to protest about it being sensitive when Rose dropped her pussy to his mouth. She smelled heavenly. Anna straddled his legs and slowly impaled herself on him. She wasn’t a virgin, but she was no slut either. She was tighter with his thickness pressing in stretching her. It sent microbursts of pleasure through her body. She leaned into Rose and they kissed as they both shook. Rose was very sensitive.

He didn’t think he could last long with the tightness but Anna made it last longer than expected. “You can cum in me,” she said at the peak of one orgasm. “I have an IUD.” She rolled her hips and she pushed down bottoming out on his cock. Rose was sucking on one of her tits. She had sensitive nipples. Anna rubbed her clit as she slid slowly up and down Michael’s cock. She hit a large orgasm as her body shudder. Anna’s pussy clamped tighter as she came and Michael came deep inside her. Michael held Rose to his face licking hard and fast against her clit until she screamed out in her own announcement of orgasmic high. He didn’t let go until he had sucked the juices from her slit. It took a moment for the ladies to get up and they all got in a shower to wash.

They dressed and went to Michael’s room to stash their other clothes before heading to dinner. Anna checked the bulletin board. They were playing another movie. She lost by one vote. She grumped about it all through dinner. Usually, no one voted.

Michael took pity on her and said he had a solution, though it wasn’t perfect. He told them to get drinks and some snacks and meet him at his room. He had to go get something from his stored gear. He had checked everything before they left the dock and knew right where what he needed was.

They were waiting by the door to his quarters. He let them in and squeezed by them, inadvertently brushing against them as he passed. When he pulled up his laptop case, Anna’s heart sank a little though it was bigger than her tablet. He saw her face and rolled his eyes. “Have some patience there lady.” He continued to set things up. From the case he had retrieved, he pulled a red device. It wasn’t more than six inches. When he looked again at the ladies, Rose was sitting on the bed and Anna was standing there pouting but holding a large bottle of water. He handed her the laptop. “Access the movies and get the one you want.” She tried to hand him the water and he just went back to the case. She sighed and did as asked. It wasn’t how she wanted but she would get to see it at least. She hefted the laptop. It was slightly bigger than any she had used.

Michael pulled a few more things but put a long wire back in. When he looked up, he stood on the bed and fastened a removable hook to the wall, just where the ceiling met it. He wait a moment before hanging the device from it in a harness. He took the laptop from Anna and set it on the desk. A few taps on the keys and both women were staring at the wall. The device was a projector, and the image took up most of the wall when the movie started to play.

“It isn’t theater big but…” he turned from the laptop and Anna met him. She put her arms around him and kissed him hard stopping anything else he would say. She pulled away and shoved the water into his hands. “Sit and drink. You used a lot of fluids today.” Rose laughed at that. They both sat while Rose passed out popcorn. The movie, the Mary Poppins sequel. Anna was a big fan of the lead actress. Michael’s comment at the end, it was good but the first movie was better. Of course the movie didn’t stop them from playing a little. Mostly Rose and Anna.

“Well that was fun,” Anna announced as she stood she kissed Rose. “I’ll see you in the morning.”

Anna pulled on Michael. However, Rose wasn’t moving. She just laid down on the bed and looked up with a big smile. “Hurry back,” she said with a smile.

“Rose is spending the night tonight. We will alternate. If that is okay with you.”

He wanted to say no, but what rational man would. He did caution her though, reminding her that he was not a permanent part of the crew.

“We know, but we like you Michael. You are not like the other men on board. That and the fact that you are leaving is more reason to enjoy the time we have, right?”

He was shocked at the declaration but he agreed with her. That changed their routine for the rest of his time aboard. He went back and spent a long night with Rose. They did have to stop at her room to get a change of clothing before heading the shower the next morning. Anna met them for breakfast, and they talked as if nothing had changed.

Anna locked arms with him as they walked toward the medical center. Rose kissed Michael and thanked him for the night before running off. They were testing a new sub and she had to be there. That caught Michael’s interest as well but Anna dragged him with her, commenting about playing with toys later. Instead of leaving him by the door like before, she pulled him in with her.

“Your wayward patient, Doctor,” she said giving Michael a push toward a man in a lab coat. Michael scowled at her and looked for an escape route. They had him blocked on all sides, trapped.

“Ah yes, Mister Saint. It is nice of you to show up. We should have done this on day one. I think we can still get it all done in time.”

Michael groaned but gave up. The physical was required. He couldn’t avoid it forever. He spent half the day there as they ran tests. They put in an IV took blood and urine and even stool samples. If there was a relatively not invasive test, they did it. They even had an MRI machine. The last was taking a pint of blood for storage and then the inoculations. Anna brought in lunch since he had to stay and just rest after they finished. It was just before dinnertime that they cleared him to leave.

The time flew by and the ladies made every possible minute memorable. More weather and mechanical issues at one of the test stops delayed his departure by three days. It gave the medical staff more time to complete their tests. The doctor cleared him the day of him departing. He supervised the loading of his supplies and reluctantly said his goodbyes. Not just to the ladies but also to everyone he had met and worked with. He did get the ladies contact info to keep in touch. He got on the helicopter with the two crew that would help offload everything. It was still a two-hour flight to where he had to go.

    *****

The Agile Marie had stopped allowing for those that wanted to go for a night swim in the ocean along with fireworks. They had those every night and had lost their appeal. She took the chance to walk around the ship and check her precautions.

Emily Sharp had been on the ship several times in the last month preparing. She had gone to her cabin and was resting after drinking too much, so Emily had time. She was walking through the lower section when she started to feel lightheaded. Her eyes started to blur and she stumbled forward as her legs started to give way under her. She grabbed her phone from her pocket and hit an icon as she stumbled toward a storage room. She crawled into a cabinet and closed it just as the world around her vanished.

Emily groaned. Her head throbbed as she moved and got her bearings. She peeked out into the room but no one was there as she crawled out and wobbled to a sink. She splashed water to her face and tried to think. She glanced at her phone. She had sent the message six hours ago.

She pulled the small pistol from its holster at her ankle and checked the corridor before going out. The ship was oddly quiet as she made her way forward and up to the main deck. What she saw didn’t make her feel better. The captain and several of the crew all had weapons. They were out on the main deck, looking out. A thunderstorm approaching, but they were watching another ship speeding to them. All the guests, minus one, were against the side and bound wrist to foot and naked. She saw all of the female crew as well. By the count that left twenty crew unaccounted.

She watched as the boat approached and the captain got antsy. Gunfire erupted and three went down. A minute later there were men boarding. They had bigger weapons and pointed them at the captain. Those tied up were screaming as the men shot and killed the armed crew. She watched the last one to board and the sight made her cringed. She recognized him and knew what this was about. This man didn’t waste any time, shooting the captain and first officer. Now the guns were too big. She had to get her charge out of there, wherever she was. She went down to the cabins. A guard was at her door. Emily pulled a knife from her boot and took aim throwing it she was moving before it even hit the guard in the throat. She paused to grab his weapon and the knife before shoving through the door. Inside a man was injecting the woman on the bed with something. “That should keep her out of it for several hours,” he was saying as she barged in. The knife slid across the throat of one man as he aimed and fired killing the other.

She struggled after cutting the woman free. She wasn’t asleep but she was still dead weight to carry. She dragged her through the back of the ship and down passages to the launch. She nearly ran into the two mercenaries. Luck had her side as she aimed both guns. She shot as they came off the launch. She hesitated but shoved the woman onto the launch. She activated her precautions before going back to grab the m16 rifle along with the four of the grenade rounds. The Agile Marie would be dead in the water thanks to her, but she still had to take care of the other ship if it pursued. There was no if. She knew it would. There was gunfire from those on the Agile Marie as she sped away. She was moving away from the storm and hoped that she could stay ahead of it. A glance and she saw the damage the two thugs had done to the radio and made it useless. She wasn’t heading anywhere but away as fast as she could.

She only had a few minutes head start before they pursued. The two boats were almost equal in power but her speed didn’t outrun their machine guns. Rounds pelted the deck. She tried to aim the grenade launcher and drive, but the fired round was too far left. She struggled to reload as she held the wheel but managed it. The round was to sort, but their fire hit the launch and splintered the deck. She fired the M16 instead hoping she could get a hit emptying the magazine. She couldn’t tell if she hit anything. They were still right behind them. She tried to veer away suddenly, but it only bought them another minute lead as they adjusted. That gave her an idea as she started another sudden turn. She did it several times, as they fired repeatedly. She glanced at the woman she was protecting. This would have been over if she had been lucid. The next rounds hit closer striking the windscreen. She made one last turn the opposite way, letting go of the wheel she hit the autopilot. She loaded the grenade launcher again. The autopilot slowed the launch but made her attackers swerve as she took aim they fired as well. All around her the rounds hit as the thud of the grenade nearly echoed another. Their round hit the water right next to the launch. The one she fired struck their ship bridge. She wasn’t waiting for the result of her marksmanship as she turned off the autopilot and again maxed the speed. Their ship was smoking and no longer after them and that was all that mattered. The problem was they had hit the control board on their last barrage. She had no idea where they were going but followed the suns path. They had been lucky. That changed about an hour later. The boat started to slow despite the throttle being maxed. Whatever it was didn’t matter she had to keep going for as long as possible, changing direction several times. A half hour more and the engine was struggling and the water was higher on the hull. That did it. From the waist of her pants, she pulled a cord and tied off the wheel to go searching hoping what she needed was there and still intact. She felt a twinge of fear as she saw the cabinet. Bullet holes lined it. She held her breath as she opened the door and looked at the three cases inside. She breathed again as both looked undamaged. She dragged the one case to the back grabbing life preserver as she passed.

She worked fast and brought another case and life jackets before grabbing her charge. She was a little more awake but acted almost drunk. At least she was able to stumble walk this time. She yanked the cord on the raft and barely grabbed it in time to keep it on the swim platform. She got the woman into it then all the other things. She debated the other case but opted to leave it. She cut off preserver and used part of the rope to tie the raft to the swim platform. They got another forty-five minutes before the boat's engine started to smoke. She cut them loose. Now they were adrift. Emily put on the life jacket and fought to get Alisha had hers. She then used the preserver rope to tie them together. Her prime concern was being located. She hoped it was by someone other than the attackers. Emily checked the weapons she had. It wasn’t much.

She leaned back and tried to think about the situation. The current was moving them for the moment so she laid back. Alisha moved over to her and snuggled closer. It had not been the first time they were together, but Emily only caressed her. As the adrenaline wore off, she felt the call of sleep and drifted off. She slept light and woke at the clap of thunder. That was not good at all.

The rain was next. First, it was just a patter on the canopy of the life raft. The wind picked up and so did the waves. They rolled over each being pushed one way then another the next. It was like riding a roller coaster combined with the twisty cup ride. They were airborne several times. Thunder boomed then lightning streaking out across the sky before striking the ocean. She was grateful the strikes were far away. They were soaking wet as they tossed about the waves. Then it got worse. The winds picked up. At first, it was a good thing as canopy acted as a kite dragging them along. The problem came when one gust caught just right and pulled them upwards as another pushed up from the bottom, they were flying. Their luck changed when the canopy ripped away and they were tumbling down.

When she awoke, Emily quickly looked for Alisha. She was there beside her, a quick check she was still breathing. The storm was gone and they had washed up on a beach somewhere. The life raft was busted beneath them she was relieved to see the emergency supplies bag a couple of hundred feet away. She untied herself from Alisha and stiffly stumbled toward the bag. Tying it to the raft had been a risk but she knew they needed supplies and couldn’t chance they get lost. She said a silent prayer hoping that it wasn’t a wasted effort. Relief washed over her. Inside, three backpacks sealed in a waterproof bag. She sat and pulled one of the bags. She was just cutting it open when Alisha dropped next to her.

“Do I want to know what happened?” she asked.

“Probably not,” Emily fished around the pack. She pulled out a packet and tossed it to Alisha. “Drink slow. We have a limited supply.” She explained everything as she emptied the emergency bag finding some items beneath the backpacks. She emptied one pack to the other two before taking a water pack.

    “Now what?” Alisha asked.

Emily shifted one of the packs to her. “Now we walk.” She stood and gestured. “Pick a direction.”

“Shouldn’t we just stay put? There has to be a boat that comes by or a plane,” Alisha grumbled as she looked at the bag with disgust.

“We don’t know that for sure. It could be days before anyone comes. We have limited supplies. We need to see if there is any kind of civilization here and or a source of clean fresh water.” Alisha grumbled more shoving the pack away. “Yeah I know but I can’t carry it all. Don’t go sneaking more water. We need to ration what we have until we find more.” Emily finally decided and headed back toward the deflated raft. She moved closer to the tree line and shade. Alisha was running to catch up a few minutes later. Emily was surprised that she had brought the pack, dragging it but still had it.

Emily was groaning a while later. She nearly slapped Alisha as she went into a fit about choosing the wrong direction. The beach ended.

“It’s only been an hour drama queen,” Emily dropped near a tree.

Alisha fumed. “Now what are you going to do?”

Emily laid back and stretched. “Rest a few minutes and go back the other way.” That got another rant. “You can stay here if you like.” That got her a lecture about protecting her. “Look it is hot and I am tired. I’d rather try to find something than do nothing. I can’t drag you along. You are a grown woman.” Emily stood and grabbed her other bag. “Time that you acted like it.” She headed back the way they came.

Alisha did follow but stayed silent. They stopped where they started. Emily went inward and took up a spot under a tree. This time Alisha didn’t stay standing. She plopped down beside Emily and glared at her before leaning against her. “You are the only one that ever dares talk to me like that.”

Emily ignored the statement. “The sun is getting higher. The beach is just too hot to keep going for now.”

Alisha kissed her neck. “We could go into the woods,” she suggested.

“More jungle than woods but yes we could but there are problems there,” Emily bent her head sideways. Alisha had such soft lips.

“What problems?” Another kiss, higher and behind the ear.

“For one,” Emily reached over and tweaked a nipple. “You are as naked as the day you were born.” She sighed as she looked at Alisha. “Almost as naked,” she tapped the huge earrings she was wearing.

“You never complained before about me being naked.”

“I’m still not. Unfortunately walking in there barefoot would be very difficult. An injury here can be fatal. If you had shoes, maybe. No, that is the last resort. Hopefully the other way there is something.”

“Still going to be an issue if we do it later or now. What is the other problem?” Alisha caressed Emily’s stomach.

“Jungles usually have animals, possibly dangerous ones if angered or intruded on. We have no real weapons.”

Alisha stayed silent but continued. Emily let her play as they laid there. She had to think. She only stopped Alisha when she started to rub her between the legs. She reminded her of the limits of their water and any loss of fluids would be bad.

Alisha grumbled but stopped, going back to the kissing. They had been resting a while as Emily looked out on the beach. The remains of the raft and the duffle they had left looked odd on the white sands. She got an idea, well two ideas. She told Alisha to stay. She took out the survival knife and walked out to the raft remains. She picked it up and shook it. She started cutting pieces off. Then she grabbed the duffle. “Time to go,” she said as she stuffed her two packs into the duffel along with the raft pieces. Their walk this time was only a half hour, but the same result. At least this time they had a cooler spot to sit.

Emily told Alisha to eat something and started on her idea. Alisha whistled when she took off her pants. Emily ignored her and continued to work, cutting the pants into shorts. It wasn’t easy but she finished the makeshift boots. She smacked Alisha’s butt when she crinkled her nose at them. “They are not fancy but they are better than nothing. We will start inland in the morning. We go for the day and find shelter. We can go in a circle until we find someone or come back here.” They tested the boots as they gathered firewood. On the third armload, Alisha screamed as she dropped what little she had. She ran out on the beach screaming and waving. Emily grabbed the binoculars from the bag. She started cursing as she ran out, grabbed Alisha, and pulled her back to the trees. She had seen the damage on the boat. The same one had attacked them. They watched as they went right by them. So much for waiting. They gathered the bags and ran into the jungle. Slowing to a fast walk several hundred feet in.

When the jungle got denser and no one was behind them, they slowed and breathed a little easier. They were walking for a while before hitting a clearing. They were just getting to the other side when a man stepped out with a rifle pointed at them. They turned but another two were coming from behind. They dropped everything just started backing up looking for an opening. Alisha stumbled. A snap echoed out as a net came up scooping both women up into it. The men just laughed.

One got on a radio and walked away. The two others poked at the two women. They were laughing when the other came back. He pulled a pistol and aimed at Emily. “To bad the boss thinks you are too dangerous to keep alive. Would have loved to fuck that ass of yours a few times.” Emily closed her eyes and trembled. The shot that rang out was quiet, almost like a small firecracker. She was still breathing. She struggled to get to the small belt knife she always wore. That wasn’t easy to do. She managed it as a man came out of the jungle. He had a rifle as well, but he was aiming it at the three men. She started cutting until he was closer. She could get through what she had done.

The new guy didn’t speak. He unshouldered his pack and set it down with the rifle. Drawing a small pistol, he checked each man. He went back to his pack and started digging into it. When he stood, again Emily reacted, and dove through the opening smacking into him. They both went to the ground. He dropped the pistol and what he had pulled out of his bag went flying. They rolled around as she elbowed him in the ribs. He caught her up with an arm around her neck. She hit him between the legs, though it wasn’t hard it was enough. She broke loose and rolled away. She managed to grab his dropped pistol, bringing it up. She was aiming right at his head.

“I don’t know who you are but I can’t take a chance. Now you are going to help my friend there down and then take us to your boat or whatever it is you have that got you here.”

He stood and took a long breath. “Help her yourself,” he gasped and limped toward the other thing he dropped.

“I will shoot you,” she said cocking the hammer.

He was cursing as he bent to pick up the item. “Then shoot. You’ll still have to get her down and have nowhere to go.” He moved to the first man, tossing the item to his bag. He bent and reached for the weapons harness. Emily pulled the trigger. Click. Click. He continued to strip the man of everything even clothing. “I suggest you hurry. The thylacine can smell a meal a mile away.” He stuffed the man’s backpack with everything possible. Emily fired again in disbelief. It was empty. Now he had two more and the ones he still carried. He moved to the next man and repeated everything. He was on the third when she moved into the trees, following the rope connected to the net. By the time, she had Alisha down. He had finished and retrieved his pack and rifle. He also had the three men's packs and weapons. “Get your stuff and go that way,” he pointed with the rifle. He had them ten feet away before following. When they hit the tree line Emily started talking telling him the story of how they got there.

“All we want to do is get off this island and go home.”

He grunted. “Getting you off would be easy,” he said angrily. Alisha giggle. “That’s if you hadn’t attacked me and broke the only means of communication I have with me.” He directed them to change direction after looking at his GPS.

They were climbing a hill when a large fire orange bird swooped down and flew right at Alisha, making her scream and fall back. She tumbled down the steeper side of the hill. The bird flew away but Emily and the mystery man dropped everything to run after Alisha. They were catching up as she stumbled around dazed. He yelled at her. “Stop.” Too late. She stumbled right into the web. She screeched and struggled but was stuck. She screamed more when she saw the spider coming at her. It was easily two foot wide.

    “Shoot it,” Emily shouted.

“Typical,” he said and pulled a flare from calf pocket. “Relax,” he said as he got up to Alisha. She still screamed and struggled. “The more you move the faster it comes.” She screeched more. Finally, he reached between her legs and cupped her. That got her attention fast. He rubbed her a moment making her focus on him then stopped. The spider was only a couple of feet away. He pressed the igniter on the flare and waved it at the spider before using it on the web cutting around her. The spider squealed and backed off as part of its web caught fire. He shoved Alisha toward Emily. “Get going.” He stopped at a tree, sticking something from his vest to it. He had a pistol out before they reached the top. Neither of the women tried anything as they gather up what they had dropped and moved on. Alisha cried as she tried to pull off the web. Emily tried to calm her they walked. Alisha hated spiders and this just made that hatred worse.

“We are almost where we need to get to, she can wash off there,” he told them.

Almost was at least twenty minutes. What they walked into was a large glen. A soft green moss carpeted the ground. They were at the base of a cliff with a small waterfall. “Go that way if you need a bathroom.” The women both ran. “There will be three trees with a hole between them.”

He was leaning on his pack when Alisha came back. He held a plastic bag up to Emily as she tried to sneak around behind him. He pointed to the water pool “Wash up. There won’t be another chance like this for a while.” She dropped the piece of wood and came around. Staring at him bewildered. “You two stink. Besides it wasn’t unexpected.” Alisha grabbed the bag. The web was making her itch. Emily joined her a minute later, resigned that they were at the mercy of this man. She didn’t get undress. Just took off her shoes before she dove into the water. It felt great. He sorted through the packs as they bathed.

“I’m hungry,” Alisha said as she came back. Emily told her to get a food pouch from the pack. “That stuff is nasty.”

“Well if you rather fresh food there are fish in the stream,” he told her. “But then I doubt you could catch them even if you wanted.” When she asked how she was supposed to do that, he just waved his hands. Again he poked at her saying she probably didn’t have any skills to do anything herself. She stomped her foot and stormed off to prove him wrong. Five minutes and he sighed as he stood. He handed Emily a rifle. “Keep watch,” he walked toward Alisha and calmed her before standing behind her to show her how to do it. She felt him against her and shuttered. It was a few minutes before they got a chance. Alisha squealed when they scooped the fish to the shore. He left her there to try for herself. Going back to his pack, he pulled out a collapsible fishing pole.

“Here,” he handed them to Emily. “This could be faster. I’ll get some wood for a fire.” They had five more by the time he came back with more than just the wood. He set everything down by the packs before walking over.

“I can’t believe we caught so many. They just keep biting,” Emily shrugged as he looked over the fish. “Which is a surprise with a homemade lure.”

He sat on the shore. They seemed to be enjoying it so he let them continue. He could use the break from watching them and the trees. “My father made it. We didn’t always have a lot of money back when I was a kid. He always said that was his luckiest lure. He always caught something with it. He let me use it once. I was maybe six years old and my first time fishing. He got mad when I kept losing the bait. He put that lure on my line told me what to do and went back to his own fishing. On my third cast out, I got a hit. The fish was huge and nearly took the pole from my hands. He sat there. Just said what to do. Took me a long time to get it ashore. He came over then and took it off the line. After looking at it, he made me hold it up. I didn’t see he had his Polaroid camera. He believed in preserving memories. Before I could get the bucket to put it in he walked in the water and let it go.” He stood up. “Speaking of letting go, think you’ve caught enough. Pick three and let the rest go.” He went back to the packs.

He was unpacking thing from his pack when he turned. He started laughing as Alisha held two by the tail as they brought them over. He walked toward her and caressed her thigh and then a nipple. “Temptress,” he said. “Now you can have sushi for dinner.” He rubbed up against her more making her tremble as he took them from her. Emily laughed at the face she made. He offered to clean them if she would wash the star fruit and leaves that he had found. Emily could start the fire. They both questioned the leaves but he just pulled his knife to fillet the fish. He seasoned the fillets before putting them in the pan.

“I could have shot you,” Emily said stood there, holding the rifle he had given her. He started cooking.

“Not really.” He set the pan down and pointed to the rifle, which she reluctantly handed him. He ejected the chambered round and handed both to her.

The round looked perfectly fine. Until she pulled on the bullet. No gunpowder. She chuckled as he shrugged. He served them each using the leaves a plate before he finally started to tell them where they were and answered what questions they had. The island was a protected nature preserve. They talked all through dinner. Even Alisha enjoyed it. He started to clean up the remains of the fish. He told them he was heading toward the “Bathroom” which go them both up.

“I have a question about your story,” Alisha said as she caught his arm. “If you were fishing for food, why did your dad let it go? If it was that big, you could have had food for a few days. Or maybe you exaggerated a little on the size like all men.”

Michael felt her pressing into him. She was lovely, combine that with the three weeks of solitude and the temptation grew stronger. She had his arm right against her breast and it rubbed against it every step they took. “He never told me. I didn’t talk to him for over a week. My mother told me years later that it had been a pregnant female, with a very big belly.”

He discarded the remains in the hold between the trees then let them go to the bathroom before going himself. When they got back to the packs, he gathered the cookware and went to wash it in the pool. When he came back, he doused the waning fire completely. Both of them complained. It was dark until he turned on a small flashlight. “Those bags should have a flashlight in them.” He packed everything back up and led them grumbling about wanting to stop. He let them grumble as he led them to a cave behind the waterfall. It was a shelter complete with hammocks and supply crates. “Get some sleep, unless your rather sleep out with the animals,” he said. Emily looked around. Then at him. “Who are you?”

“Michael Saint, Preserve Ranger and a researcher,” he said flatly. He gave her push and patted Alisha on the butt. “Sleep, tomorrow is a long day.” He got up a half an hour later and went out of the cave mouth. He went to the left as he stripped and slipped into a small alcove that formed a natural shower.

“You got her revved up you can deal with it,” Emily said making him jump. She pushed Alisha in with him. He felt Alisha slipping in as he realized his fear of being in the shower and caught off guard was fulfilled. He didn’t move. Alisha did and pressed her naked body against him. She guided his hand to her crotch and moaned as he entered slightly. “Are you sure about this? You don’t need to,” he asked pulling back suddenly. Her answer, dropping down in front of him. When they came back in Alisha laid next to Emily. She was purring.

They started early the next day. Before leaving, Michael opened one of the crates and got a jumpsuit for Alisha to wear and proper boots. He also found two canteens for each of them. Though he hesitated, he also fitted Alisha with one of the pistols from one of the dead men. He told her to leave it alone and use it only to defend as a last resort. He gave Emily one of the rifles. He left all the other stuff there.

They were walking and talking. Michael had them walking beside him this time. He told them it would be another fifteen hours walking. Also, another night sleeping outdoors.

They stopped for a lunch of fruit they had picked along the way. They were just finishing when Michael looked around. “Company,” he said. It was too late to get the weapons as five men rushed them. They had them surrounded. It looked hopeless. That is when the bird struck. Its talons were out and struck one of the men in the face. The distraction gave Emily a chance to strike as she swiped out and hit one man in between the legs then hit with a chop to his throat. Before he fell, she pulled his pistol and shot another. She dove as one of them was aiming at her and fired three shots peppering his body. She spun at the sound of a shot. Michael was just finishing with two others. It had been Alisha had fired the shot killing the one on the ground aiming a gun at Emily.

“Dam,” she and Michael both said at the same time. They didn’t have time to rest as Michael started again to strip the bodies. He stopped when the bird came back and landed beside him. He reached out and caressed the head. “Thank you, my friend.” The bird was huge. It cocked its head toward Alisha who stepped back. Michael caressed the bird again. “It’s okay, you didn’t know.” It shook its head and again looked at her before turning its head. Michel held his arm like a falconer and the bird jumped on to it. He went to Alisha who looked panicked. “Relax she is not going to hurt you,” he told her as the big bird leaned over and pecked at Alisha earring before putting its head to it. Michel set her down and smiled at Alisha before taking the earring. He looked it over. He used a knife to open the back finding it full of electronics. Alisha pulled the other one off and checked. It was the same. He gave them back after breaking the boards. She tossed them at the dead man she shot. He went back to helping Emily strip the ones left. He didn't say anything when she put on a double shoulder holster. This time they stashed everything in trees. From his vest, Michael pulled another device attaching it to a tree.

The rest of the walk was uneventful. They skirted the natural dangers of the islands and spent the night in a tree house. Noon the next day was when they had trouble.

“I count twenty,” Michael said as he shifted looking at the complex through binoculars. “If we can make the helicopter we can get out of here. However, it’s a risk. Even if we could take them out from a distance we don’t know what is inside waiting.”

“Then we do it the hard way. One by one,” Emily started to pull off all the gear she had.

“Let’s move closer,” he told her.

When they stopped, he took his pack off and searched it. He handed Emily a small tube and a box before pulling out an identical set. “You have two shots, make them count.” He told her as he loaded the dart gun. The darts were a sedative for animals but poisonous to people.

They moved in leaving Alisha as hidden as they could make her. They managed to get two guards before the plan went south. Five men were coming out and one held Alisha with a gun to her head. Emily had her back to them as one took aim, Michael ran. He was aiming to knock her down but she moved at the last minute. Michael felt the rounds hit him as he fell to the ground.

Men came and dragged him as another grabbed Emily. They pulled them inside and tossed Michael on the floor. Another man walked over and using his foot rolled Michael over.

“So you are the piss ant that killed ten of my men,” he rolled his foot over Michael’s face.

    “Had help,” Michael choked.

That got him a kick to the stomach followed by questions of who and where they were. Michela choked on blood but stayed silent. He grabbed Michael by the head until he was standing. That was a mistake. There was a chuff and the terrorist by the door choked as the dart hit him in the throat. That got him a punch to the stomach thrown back to the floor. The man kicked him several times, swearing at him. He final backed up and wiped his face with his hand. “Fine, goodbye hero,” he said and went for the revolver on his hip. It never left the holster. Bodies hitting the floor followed the sound of glass breaking.

"Goodbye asshole," he spat as Emily crawled to him. He pushed her back. “They don’t know. Get down hands back both of you. Listen to them. Answer them.” He choked a bit. “Tell them I said they are late and there is an infestation on the island. The beach is bloody. Sharks are in the water.” She didn’t listen and he shouted. “Do it. They will shoot first.”

She was just getting down when the door exploded.

Michael woke in a hospital room. It had been a close one. Internal bleeding from the beating complicated things. Over the next few days, he got debriefed. They told him that Alisha and Emily were safe and returned home. The ship had not been so lucky. They boarded it finding all the male crew and passengers dead. Several of the women were being constantly raped, three ended up pregnant. A week later a representative of the coalition over the preserves arrived. It was a quick visit. They were making changes to the preserves. Among other things, they were forming teams. That had been the original plan. They wanted Michael to stay on for the original term, plus. He agreed. The rep then informed him that he received a promotion.

He was in the hospital for three weeks. A day later, he was heading back to the islands. He had asked but no one could tell him who was on the team. They did tell him that they were already on the island. He flew by seaplane this time.

Walking up he saw one difference. A seaplane was at the dock. Although it hurt to do so, he laughed when he walked in. There standing was Anna and Rose. Behind them Alisha.

Anna and Rose kissed him and then pushed him to Alisha.

“Alisha Marie Anne Dumont, Princess," he bowed half-heartedly. "I thought you would be in your royal court.” She eyed him but kissed him. She pushed him toward the back.

“We will talk about knowing that later. You have something to do. Go to your room.”

That had him immediately worried but he went. He went cautiously opening his door slowly. There on his bed as naked as she could get was Emily. She got up and started undressing him. He tried to stop her but she slapped his hand and pulled him to the bed. She didn’t speak and he just stopped fighting her. Letting her do whatever she wanted. She kissed touched caressed and fondled. She even gave her first blowjob. She needed more work there. When she got up to straddle him, she rubbed herself over his cock. She was wet and ready. She had him pinned between her legs as she leaned over and kissed him hard.

“Are you sure? I thought you weren’t interested in…” he started. She kissed him again.

She lifted up and positioned herself the tip right at her opening. “I am I just needed to find the right man,” she said and dropped. Darkness.

Emily groaned as her eyes focused and she was again back in her room. Her stepbrother was there holding her VR visor.

“I knew it. You could not go a week without this thing. I win. Time to pay up.”

She shrugged as he undressed. One hand went to her pussy as the other to her breast. Both hands had silk gloves on them. Red ones. “Yep you caught me red-handed,” she giggled. She glanced at the clock as he climbed between her legs and started to lick. Dam he was late getting home. She moaned as his tongue worked over her sex. Yeah, sometimes you just need the right guy.

This was a great story. When I finally got to the end and the whole plot came together it was perfect. I did find myself a bit confused a couple times, but I also was reading it late at night and jet-lagged so there is the chance I dozed here and there. (No offense to your story, and I promise I'll read it again before voting time).
Anyhow, I did find myself a bit confused here and there about who was who, and where, and why? But after going back was able to re-orient. I think that yes, it probably could have been trimmed a bit here and there without losing anything.
All that being said, I love the whole "spy thriller" feel to it, both about him and the girl. And I loved the way it all came together at the end. It was a perfect wrap. I can see why it took so long and drove you crazy. lol.
Excellent job! (and thanks so much for submitting!!!)

You have a lot of things caught up in this story.

Action, intrigue, sex, suspense... There is a lot going on here. In places, I had to backup and figure out what was going on but I got it eventually. It was quite an adventure. :D

There are a lot of mistakes, I copied some but gave up after a bit. This needs a really good editing. It almost looks like you wrote it on a phone. Sometimes that can be convinient but it's a bad habit to get into.

Sexy action packed story. Thanks. :D

This was quite a long story but I liked it. It just needs some editing and attention to detail. Good job.

I can see where you want to go with this, but it really needs to be cut down some. Editing sucks! But sometimes you need to brutally cut out parts that you spent time on for the sake of the story.

This has a lot of good things too. An action packed sex story can be a lot of fun. And this has both action and sex in spades.

Good job, but work on finding out how to get your point across with less waste

@bistander is going to roast me alive after my previous review. Go ahead brother.

I find the above review of yours to be spot on and I'll take a short cut by saying I second it.

Your review on my story, spot on as well, but if you read my comment at the start you know that was the best I could do after a very long, the longest ever, maybe, slump and depression I've had in years. The wonderfully talented @Mitchie was trying to help me break out of it for some time, to no avail. Finally, this picture challenge that she agreed to do with me set me free! I never expected any votes for that story, but I wanted to support the contest, so I entered it.

As far as length and reading, yes, reading is a huge effort for me. I read 7 times slower than the average reader, so when there are a shit-ton of stories(that's an awesome thing for the site) I can't write at all because all my time is going towards reading and writing reviews. I need to write because people are waiting a month or two for each new chapter of the book I've been working on for years. That's not acceptable to me. So, yes, I like to write more than read, but I want to support this site and help newer writers because that's what Wantsomefun did for me. Eljs and ahorse, too.

FYI - I don't think all my complaining is going to change the length of anybody's stories, and it shouldn't, but editing to the bone always improves a story, so I'd encourage all of you to always see where you can cut extra words. My CAW SS entry this month, started at 1,183 words. I spent 3 more hours chopping and ended up with 950, and it was a better story.

Very detailed story and yes, I also had to jump back a few times as I got a bit confused. A couple of times you had two people talking in the same paragraph and that always throws me off. Other than that, it had good suspense, a lot of tease. I liked it, well done.
